Do your kids have a ton of toys? Does it seem like all that happens is they end up all over the floor – all over the house? Then, next thing you know, it’s Christmas or their birthday again, and here comes more new stuff! Where will you put it all? How many times a week will YOU have to pick it all up and when will it stop??
One thing that I have found works well, is rotating out the toys. Here’s how to do it:
· Start by going through all their toys and weed out the ones that they NEVER play with anymore. You can either throw them out or donate them, depending on their condition.
· Next, separate the toys into groups. Make one group of their 3 to 5 favorite toys, and put all of the other toys into a separate group.
This is an especially great solution for babies and toddlers. When there are too many toys for them to choose from, they tend to become overwhelmed and try to play with everything at once – hence the toys everywhere, covering every square foot of floor space in the house! The rotation gives them choices without being overwhelmed and cleanup is easier for you too! I’d say that’s a win!!
