After cooking for my family for over 17 years, I kind of got into a bit of a habit – making the same things what seems like week after week, as if my stove had been set to “repeat” (although, “repeat” would be a killer setting to have, just saying). Needless to say, I needed to try something new. So, I came across this idea that used crescent rolls to make a Chicken Roll-Up Casserole – & took it to a whole different level. I added a little bit of sweetness to the savory flavor by using Sweet Hawaiian crescent dough, which really was like the “icing on the cake” – tying it all together.
I’ll admit, it wasn’t as easy and quick as I had originally thought & planned for, but TOTALLY worth the extra prep in the end. It was not only filling, the recipe made enough that even with my whole army – there were still leftovers for lunch!
Pro Tip: It’s ooey-gooey-good, so I would really recommend using a deep 9×13 baking dish to make sure you have plenty of room for all the gooey-goodness & cheese sauce (don’t have one? you can grab my favorite one HERE).
This recipe can be served by itself as a complete meal or if you’re up to try something different, you can serve it over mashed potatoes, YUM!
