To understand WHY I love candles, specifically Colonial Candle, you’d first need to know one things – I love Fall.
Growing up I REALLY loved Summer because, well, no school. Duh. As an adult (OK, adult-ish) though, the scents of Fall, the leaves changing colors and lining the streets (I know most people hate this since it plugs the drainage – but I still love it!), snuggling up by the fire, hot cocoa (hot cocoa with Baileys – even better!) – all the cozy things that come with cooler weather (don’t tell me you didn’t wear boots when it finally dropped below 70 because I won’t believe you…).
Above all – what I love most about Fall – is the smell of everything that comes along with the season, and the CANDLES! I am not afraid to admit I may have a hoarding problem when it comes to Colonials Collections. I can’t help myself – Pumpkin Bourbon Cider, Nutmeg Chai Latte, Apple Allspice – gah!! I mean, it doesn’t get any better than a chilly day topped off with your favorite scent – and with candles, even if it’s currently not fall, at least it can SMELL like fall! Now, let’s talk about the champ, the Rocky, the Babe Ruth, if you will, of candles – Colonial Candle! These folks have been making candles for OVER 100 YEARS – and still own the market with their original scents, exciting jars, tins, pours and wicks, and just plain good old-fashioned quality.
Colonial Candle was made popular by the table-scape officiciandos, Classic Tapers. Fast forward 100 years and their tapers are dripless – YUP! – no more scraping wax off your table linens, tables, hardwood floors. Classic, timeless, dripless – we should all strive to be those things
NOW – back to scents! Colonial Candle and their brands have scents that will make your mouth water – let me lay down a few of my fall favorites + a few for the current season for ya here – mmm k?
Obviously – Fall comes first!
Bourbon Sweet Potato – so spot on people will think you baked, without actually baking + a wooden wick to elevate your experience, giving you a relaxing night by the fire without the need of a fireplace.
Pumpkin Bourbon Cider – Because nothing says fall like PUMPKIN! This fusion of smooth bourbon and creamy pumpkin is mouthwatering + delicious. it’s basically the designated Fall smell.
Chai Snickerdoodle – YES PLEASE. If anyone has a recipe for the cookie version of this – please share! (I’ll be sure to also share with everyone else in our Recipe of The Week.)
If you don’t want a warm blanket, a cozy fire, and a Netflix binge right now – call me for an intervention. 1.800.CANDLES.ARE.THE.BOMB
On to a few for those who love our current season – or just need a break from fall, haha. These smell so good you can literally escape from home, while home.
Lavender Sprig – Like taking a stroll through the lavender fields, this candle is packed with all things outdoors.
Lemon Zest – Recharge your senses with the bright sensations of a fresh scent that will brighten any space.
Elderberry Woods – welcome relaxation with every light soothing spice and sweet musk’s to create a unique fruity aroma.
This company is CONSTANTLY launching new scents and collections, making it pretty much impossible to get worn out on a particular scent without it being completely intentional (I, myself, have been known to burn the same scent on repeat for a season or two – my family has probably been over fall since Christmas, but it’s my go-to smell and they are well versed in “if momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”.
